The First Vienna Protest Path highlights past struggles for many rights we enjoy today. It shows how people organised and achieved issues which nowadays are taken for granted – and how such struggles and achievements left their mark on the cityscape of Vienna today.
The First Vienna Protest Path is a project for young people and politically interested individuals who want to experience Vienna from a different perspective.

The Vienna Protest Path can be hiked alone or in a group. It is suitable for educational work both in and out of school and is supplemented by appropriate materials for preparation and follow-up work in the classroom or in youth groups. The project creates a link between historical and political education and is not only suitable for subjects such as history and political education, but also for teaching excursions in all subjects that want to promote the ability to judge and analyze and the political maturity of the students.

The accompanying booklet for teachers, youth groups and interested parties contains basic information on the individual stations, tips for preparation and follow-up in the classroom, and detailed instructions for “protest hiking”.

Guided tours and workshops on the Protest Path
Martin Auer, the author of the stations of the Vienna Protest Trail, is available for guided tours and workshops in connection with the Protest Trail – for example, guided walks to selected stations or post-processing in the form of narrative texts, play scenes or videos.
